Personal Background


Fr. Dennis B. Testado, SVD is the Corporate Secretary of the University of San Carlos as well as Holy Name University in Tagbilaran City. He is a religious missionary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) and was ordained a priest on December 1, 2012.

Fr. Testado sits in various Board and corporate positions including Word Broadcasting Corporation (formerly Filipinas Broadcasting Association, Inc.) and Liceo del Verbo Divino, Inc. He served the SVD Philippines Southern Province from 2017–2019 as Secretary of the Provincial Council while concurrently working as the Property Administrator. He was the Administrative Officer of Liceo del Verbo Divino (2014–15) and briefly served as Officer-in-Charge School Director in 2015. He also coordinated the SVD Vocation Office for Region 8 during the same period, and coordinated the Leyte-province-wide Disaster Response Team of the SVD Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) from December 2013 to December 2014 after Typhoon Haiyan struck the region. He was also assistant parish priest in St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay, and was also a co-pastor at St. Martin de Porres Parish in Bacoor City, Cavite.

Fr. Testado earned a degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Physics and became a professional licensed teacher in 2003. He completed his studies in philosophy from Christ the King Mission Seminary in 2006 prior to professing his religious vows in 2008. He then went to the Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay City and obtained his A.B. in Theology (magna cum laude), M.A. in Theology major in Mission Studies (magna cum laude), and an Ecclesiastical Course in Sacred Theology (cum laude). He then obtained his Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (cum laude) from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome. Fr. Testado also earned his Master in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business in 2017. He is currently working towards his doctorate in Business Administration in De La Salle University, Manila.
