A. University Level
PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY
The University President supervises the Basic Education Department of the South Campus through the Basic Education Department Director.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Under the supervision of the President, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs is primarily responsible for planning and implementing the overall academic programs and policies of the University.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADMINISTRATION
Under the supervision of the President, the Vice-President for Administration is primarily responsible for administrative matters.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE
Under the supervision of the President, the Vice President for Finance is primarily responsible for financial matters.
B. Basic Education
VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief administrative officer of the elementary and high school units of the North Campus, South Campus and Montessori Academy of the University of San Carlos.
He reports to the USC President, supervises Principals, Registrar, Director for Community Extension Service and Mission, Administrative Officer, Treasurer and HRMO, and coordinates with the Academic/ Administrative Council, Alumni and Industry Coordinator.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE/ADMINISTRATION
The Vice President for Finance/Administration is responsible to the USC President for carrying out the financial and business policies of the department, of monitoring physical assets, revenues, expenditures and financial related undertakings/transactions of USC – BED and of administrative matters for BED.
The Principal is the chief administrator of the Basic Education Department South Campus. Under the supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs – BED, he/she directs and administers the academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs of the department. He/She supervises all the academic and the service support personnel attached to his/her office which are as follows:
The Assistant Principal performs the tasks of the principal in his/her absence and performs other duties assigned by the principal.
The School Registrar is responsible for the production, storage, use, and issuance of the students’ academic records. He/She is in-charge with supervising the admission and registration of students in the light of the existing policies of the school and of the Department of Education.
Aside from enforcing regulations concerning enrolment, transfer, promotions, failure, retention and subject sequence as set by the school and the Department of Education, he/she also acts as the liaison officer of the school in official transactions with the Department of Education.
The Academic Assistant exercises over-all supervision of the instructional program of his/her subject area and its related activities.
The Administrative Assistant is in-charge with the general function of coordinating all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities within the grade level assigned to him/her. He/ She supervises the homeroom advisers, subject teachers, and students in the same grade level.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL COORDINATOR
The SHS Coordinator supervises the USC BED Senior High School Program, projects the sustainability of Grades 11 and 12 offered by USC BED, collaborates with partner institutions and the USC personnel, conducts action research related to the educational reform and K to 12 implementation, coordinates with DepEd Region 7, spearheads the Summer Training Institute Program for TLE teachers, represents USC –BED in K to 12 trainings and seminars, supervises/monitors students during their 12th year with partner institutions and performs other related tasks.
He/She performs such other functions as may be assigned by the higher administration officials or the Vice President for Academic Affairs – Basic Education Department.
The IT Coordinator manages all USC South Campus IT laboratories, recommends and coordinates repairs, updates software to IRM, serves as web administrator, and update/upgrade the Media Information Literacy of the faculty.
COMPUTER PROGRAMS COORDINATOR
The Computer Programs Coordinator exercises over-all supervision of the computer programs of the department and its related activities.
PUPIL/STUDENT ACTIVITY PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Pupil/Student Activity Program Coordinator oversees the proper programming and implementing of club activities to ensure that objectives of clubs are achieved.
COMMUNITY EXTENSION SERVICE COORDINATORS
Under the supervision of the Director of Academic Extension and Industry Linkages and the Principal, the Community Extension Service (CES) Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and controls the outreach activities of the department.
PUPIL GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MODERATOR/STUDENT BODY ASSOCIATION MODERATOR
The PGEC and SBA Moderators organize and facilitate the electoral process in the selection of pupil/student leaders, and guide the officers in implementing their association’s by- laws to create a harmonious and friendly school environment.
SCHOOL PUBLICATION MODERATORS
The school publication moderator selects the editorial staff and guide the staffers to come up with two publications in a school year.
CAMPUS ATHLETICS COORDINATOR
The Campus Athletics Coordinator promotes the sports activities of the department in coordination with the other sectors of the University.
The Homeroom Adviser promotes the safety and welfare of the students in his/her advisory class. He/She establishes direct liason with the Administrative Assistant, the subject teacher and parents of the students in his/her advisory class. He/She coordinates with the Guidance Counselor and the Carolinian Formations’ Officer and provides each with the information or documents related to the students’ progress and behavior as may be required. He/She implements the Revitalized Homeroom Guidance Program.
The Subject Teacher implements the instructional program of the subject area consistent with the instructional program of the department. He/She maintains classroom discipline consistent with Christian values and principles, and facilitates the development of the students’ mental skills, attitudes and values.
C. Support Services
The Guidance Counselors implement the Guidance Services Program that complements the instructional program of the school.
CAROLINIAN FORMATION OFFICERS (CFO)
The CFO implements policies on the maintenance of external order and school discipline. He/She sees to it that every student observes school rules and regulations as provided for in the Student Journal. He/She conducts an investigation of all disciplinary cases and acts on them in accordance with the prescribed procedures. He/She regulates the application and use of permits, passes and the like.
The head of the Campus Ministry provides pastoral and liturgical services to the academic community to complement the instructional program of the school. He is also responsible for the religious formation of the students and teachers as well as service support personnel in the school.
The librarians supervise the personnel and activities of the library to provide efficient reference and information service to the various clientele and to promote the maximum use of the library’s facilities and resources.
The Psychometrician implements the testing program of the school for instruction, guidance and administrative purposes.
The A-V Coordinator plans and implements the media program of the school.
SOUTH CAMPUS TREASURY AND COMPTROLLER
This office is manned by a Cashier/Teller and Comptroller/Warehouse Custodian who work directly under the Vice President for Finance of the University. They receive all payments for school fees and other related financial transactions; issues statement of accounts of each student periodically, at least a week before the scheduled examination; issues admission slips to students who have complied with the agreed payment. The office is open to accept payments at: 7:30-11:30 A.M.; 1:30-4:30 P.M. (M-F) and 7:30-11:30 A.M.; 1:30-4:00 P.M. on a Saturday before examination week.
HEALTH SERVICES PERSONNEL
The Health Services Personnel ensure the quality and smooth flow in the delivery of medical/dental services in the South Campus.
PHYSICAL PLANT AND FACILITIES OFFICER (PPFO)
The PPFO oversees the maintenance of the physical facilities of the South Campus.
The Security Officer supervises the implementation of general security and safety measures to protect students, faculty, staff and other clientele from physical harm and damage, theft and exposure to nuisances and possible immoral and illegal activities and associations.
