The USC Institutional Ethics Research Committee has been accredited by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) in compliance with the Philippine National Health Research Systems Act of 2013 (R.A. No. 10532). USC is the first non-medical school in Central Visayas to be accredited by the PHREB.
USC’s Laboratory Animal Facility has been awarded a Certificate of Accreditation by the Philippine Association of Laboratory Animal Science (PALAS) in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 (R.A. No. 8485, as amended by R.A. No. 10631). USC is the first university in Central Visayas to have a PALAS-accredited animal facility.
Three project proposals totaling PHP15M were approved by the Commission on Higher Education in 2017 under the Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG) scheme.
