Januar Aguja, a first year media communication student, represented the University of San Carlos and placed 3rd in the CESAFI 18th Season: Essay Writing Contest, which was held at the University of Visayas on February 15, 2019.

Recent graduates Antoinette O. Marquito and Erica Jill B. Dancel won the Best Research Paper (student category) award in the 3rd National Journalism and Communication Research Congress held on September 21, 2018.
