Accountancy students bag 8th place in national finance competition

Fourth-year Accountancy students Jericka Celine C. Mapula, Kyle Nicholas P. Taganas, and Kristina Noelle O. Vistal secured the 8th place out of 24 competing teams in the recently concluded Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition Final Round held on November 24, 2023, at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in Manila.

The annual competition was organized by the Financial Executives Institute of the Phillippines (FINEX) in collaboration with the CFA Society Philippines and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Philippines.

Despite facing stiff competition against Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines-Diliman, and other top-notch colleges and universities in the country, the Carolinian students showcased outstanding analytical and strategic thinking skills all throughout.

Their achievement serves as a testament to the University of San Carlos’ commitment to nurturing talent and providing students with practical exposure to the intricate world of finance.

Their success is made possible through their exceptional coaches, Joemel D. Dakay, Oscar V. Villaflor, and Rey D. Amaya, whose guidance played a pivotal role in their journey to success.
