USC offers merit scholarships to top SHS graduates

The University of San Carlos is awarding financial aid beginning Academic Year 2024–2025 to incoming first year students with exceptional grades throughout their Senior High School.

For USC graduates

USC Senior High School graduates with the three highest grades in each strand (STEM, HUMSS, AD, and ABM) are eligible for the following merit scholarships:

  • Rank 1 – 100% tuition fee waiver, excluding laboratory and other fees
  • Rank 2 – 75% tuition fee waiver, excluding laboratory and other fees
  • Rank 3 – 50% tuition fee waiver, excluding laboratory and other fees

Top graduate from other schools

Meanwhile, the top graduate of each strand from other schools will receive a 100% tuition fee waiver, excluding laboratory and other fees.

To maintain these merit scholarships, the scholars must earn a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 1.7 every semester. All scholars must not have a grade of 5.0, NC, or INC. Otherwise, the student will be automatically disqualified from the scholarship privileges.

Requirements

Interested applicants for these scholarship grants must submit the following requirements to the Office of Alumni Affairs, Scholarships, and Job Placement:

  • A completed scholarship application form (obtain the form from the Office of Recruitment and Admissions), with a 2×2 colored picture;
  • A letter from the SHS Principal certifying the student’s academic rank and grades; and
  • Proof of extra-curricular activities and/or leadership roles.

Conditions

Merit scholars should also observe and adhere to the following conditions and guidelines:

  • Ineligible for additional scholarships or privileges;
  • Prohibited from engaging in any remunerative employment;
  • Maintain good academic standing;
  • Follow university regulations; and
  • Make a down payment upon enrollment which shall be applied towards the student’s laboratory and other fees.
