Carolinian students join Tech, AI, and Career Readiness program in Vietnam

DCISM students in Vietnam

The University of San Carlos, through the USC Department of Computer, Information Sciences and Mathematics (DCISM), sent 105 students for a six-day corporate immersion program in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, exploring the frontlines of artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

The study tour, which ran from May 25–31, 2026 was the cornerstone of the department’s Tech, AI, and Career Readiness Program. The delegation included students from the Computer Science, Information Technology, and Information Systems programs.

Faculty members from the USC DCISM, namely Doriz Roa, Grace Estrada, Archival Sebial, Christine Pena, and Katrina Fuentes, accompanied the students as chaperons.

During their time in Vietnam’s economic center, our students toured the corporate offices of seven companies: Ahamove, CT Group, GoTymeX, Accesstrade, GeoComply, S3Corp, and MISA.

The site visits gave them a firsthand look at international business environments and allowed them to participate in direct discussions with tech executives regarding international employment opportunities and future career paths.

The learning experience extended well beyond standard corporate tours. During the six-day Vietnam immersion, our students engaged in immersive, hands-on workshops and collaborative discussions on robotics, operational processes, tech innovations, and other topics.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the leadership of Dr. Angie M. Ceniza-Canillo and the faculty members of the USC DCISM for creating an opportunity that empowers our Carolinians to thrive in the global tech landscape.

To our host companies in Vietnam, thank you for opening your doors to us. We genuinely appreciate the warm hospitality, mentorship, and technological insights shared with our delegates. This immersion has not only broadened our students’ technical horizons but has also inspired them to become future-ready leaders in artificial intelligence and global innovation.
