USC tops 2026 Pharmacist board exam; grabs 1st place, three top 10 spots

Tabornal

The University of San Carlos (USC) ranked No. 1 among top-performing schools with 50 to 99 examinees in the October 2026 Pharmacists Licensure Examination (PhLE), while three Carolinians earned spots among the topnotchers, including 1st place.

All 50 out of 50 Carolinian examinees passed the exam, securing a 100% overall passing rate. Nationwide, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 3,830 out of 4,944 examinees passed, marking a 77.47% national passing percentage.

Melanie Anne Leyson Tabornal placed 1st in the PhLE with a rating of 95.97%. She was joined in the top 10 by two of her classmates, Jaye Samantha Yap Abrigonda (7th place, 95.38%) and Daeniel Formentera Pitogo (8th place, 95.17%).

This achievement is a shared triumph and a product of the brilliant and supportive leadership of Dr. Gerard L. See (Dean, School of Healthcare Professions) and Dr. Florencio V. Arce Jr. (Chair, Department of Pharmacy) together with our faculty and staff members, whose steady guidance shaped our graduates for this moment and in their future pharmacy practice.

To the parents, families, friends, and support systems who walked alongside our examinees—this victory belongs to you and the entire Carolinian community.

Congratulations to all 50 of our new Carolinian Pharmacists!
