Fr. Arthur Z. Villanueva, SVD, Vice President for Finance, University of San Carlos

Personal Background

Fr. Arthur Z. Villanueva, SVD is concurrently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Divine Word College of Legazpi and Vice President for Finance of the University of San Carlos. He is a religious missionary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) and was ordained a priest on November 10, 1979.

Fr. Villanueva is a trustee of numerous SVD institutions, including St. Arnold Medical Mission, Inc., Logos Publication, Inc., and Holy Name University (Tagbilaran).

He also sits as a member of the SVD Philippines Central Province (PHC) provincialate and school finance committees since 2011 and has held several finance positions at St. Jude Catholic School (2011 to present), the former Divine Word University (Tacloban, 1984–86), and USC (1985–99). He served as Provincial Treasurer of the SVD PHC from 1999 to 2011.

Fr. Villanueva earned bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and theology as well as a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Divine Word Seminary (Tagaytay). He served as the area priest of Loreto, Agusan del Sur, from 1980 to 1981.
