Scholarships for Master of Science in Pharmacy and Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences are now available at the University of San Carlos through the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) of the Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST SEI) after a successful evaluation on July 11, 2023.
The Technical Working Group (TWG) who evaluated the graduate programs included DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Peña, DOST-SEI Deputy Director Albert Mariño, former UP College of Pharmacy Dean Imelda Peña, and Professor Agnes Castillo of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Pharmacy. The TWG reviewed the program design, conducted interviews with faculty members and students, and performed an ocular inspection of the research facilities at the Department.
USC Department of Pharmacy’s graduate programs address the priority needs for health and pharmaceutical sciences through the production of R&D-ready, high-level human resources in the region. In addition, the Department will open opportunities for aspiring science and technology scholars, particularly in the fields of natural products and drug development in the countryside through this program.
Scholarships for master’s degrees in pharmacy through DOST-SEI ASTHRDP are only available at USC in the Visayas and Mindanao. Qualified graduate pharmacy scholars are entitled to benefits such as tuition fees, stipend, transportation allowance, insurance, transportation allowance, and research fund.
