CPMC, a renowned manufacturer of handcrafted indoor and outdoor furniture, donated Php2 million worth of furniture to USC to furnish collaborative spaces, which will be named the Coast Pacific Lounge, on its Downtown and Talamban campuses.

By providing furniture to the campuses, CPMC aims to empower students, believing that great spaces inspire great ideas. According to them, their mission is not only to craft quality furniture but also to create spaces where students, educators, and future leaders can grow, collaborate, and thrive.

In addition, the University and CPMC agreed to establish a Php2m Coast Pacific Scholarship as part of the latter’s Diamond Jubilee gift. The scholarship will provide assistance to students selected or referred by CPMC for enrollment in select academic programs of the University.

The MOA was signed by University President Fr. Francisco Antonio T. Estepa, SVD, Ph.D., and Cristina C. Lo, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Coast Pacific Manufacturing.  Witnessing the occasion are the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Fr. Jesuraj Anthoniappen, VP for Administration Atty. Joan S. Largo, USC Law alumnus Atty. Justine Andrew Lo of CPMC, Ruby Salutan of Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Inc. (CFIF). Ms. Cristina Lo was a past president of CFIF.

As part of its Diamond Jubilee celebration, the University of San Carlos is partnering with alumni, stakeholders, and industry leaders like CPMC to support research, infrastructure, scholarships, and endowments through its R.I.S.E. project.
