Knowledge on intellectual property is indispensable in today’s globalized business, research and development, and innovations. Issues in food, water, energy, waste, health, disease, communication, and transportation among others require creative and innovative solutions.
This seminar provided the foundation on intellectual property including copyrights, patents and utility models, trademarks, industrial designs, trade secrets, and many more.
Participants underwent a three-hour lecture and almost an hour of open forum at the state-of-the-art Michael Richartz Conference Center beginning at 8:00 a.m. on August 23, 2017. Danilo B. Largo, Ph.D., Director of the USC Office of Research and the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) manager, was the resource speaker. Dr. Largo has extensive training on Intellectual Property Rights provided by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) with support from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
