Cristita L. Lanticse, coordinator of the USC Library and Information Section of the Department of Computer, Information Sciences and Mathematics, was recently named as one of the nine-member Executive Board of the Philippine Association of Teachers of Library Science (PATLS) 2020-2022.
Lanticse, as a B.L.I.S. and M.S. L.I.S. instructor, has been actively involved in the implementation of PATLS activities and advocacies in the education and training of information professionals.
Candida C. Agcaoili, PATLS Founding President back in 1964, described the nationwide professional organization to be “in the forefront of library education in the Philippines. Its members are all seasoned L.I.S. teachers, but more so because more of them are acknowledged leaders in the field of Philippine Librarianship. There is no doubt, therefore, that the Association will remain the undisputed wellspring of wisdom and enlightenment in the library profession in our country.”
Induction of the members of the Executive Board will be on March 31, 2020 during the annual General Assembly in Manila.
