Carolinian undergraduate Psychology students participated in the 39th Philippine Association of Psychology–Junior Affiliates (PAPJA) Convention, held last April 27–28, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Arena in Manila with the inspiring theme “Futurescaping Psychology: Our Role in Attaining the Sustainable Development Goals.”

This convention served as a dynamic platform for undergraduate psychology students across the country to engage in meaningful discourse, collaboration, and innovation toward a more sustainable future.
Representing the university were 63 undergraduate student delegates from the USC Psychology Society, along with six faculty chaperones, all embodying the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service. Throughout the convention, the delegates actively participated in various academic and creative events, demonstrating both intellectual rigor and artistic expression.
Among the highlights of USC’s participation were its remarkable achievements in the national competitions. The University secured 2nd place in the TranscenDANCE Competition, emerging as one of the top finalists among nine competing schools across the nation.
In another category, USC earned 3rd place in the Quiz Bee Competition, standing out among 95 participating schools nationwide, thanks to their coach, Kevin Ken Remedio.
The University was also represented in the Short Film Making and Songwriting competitions, further highlighting the diverse talents and perspectives of its undergraduate psychology students.
More than a celebration of achievements, the convention was a valuable opportunity for learning, reflection, and envisioning the evolving role of psychology in addressing global challenges. The experience not only strengthened the delegates’ academic foundations but also deepened their commitment to contributing to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The University of San Carlos Department of Psychology is immensely proud of each one of you for exemplifying excellence, passion, and dedication in representing the institution on a national stage. Indeed, this experience reaffirms that excellence thrives where purpose and community meet.
Congratulations, CAROLINIANS!
