Team Lahutay (below) was composed of Dr. Edwin Carcasona (adviser), Hermogenes Alcos Jr., Prescillano Alforque, John Kim Bihag, Micah Cooper, Joema Gamboa, Vergil Marapoc, Ryan Ragasajo, Paul Solon, and Deither Vega.
The second team, dubbed Handos Sugbo (below), was composed of Engr. Alan Kilantang (adviser), Kylle Sheen Avenido, Ma. Rica Borgonia, Gabriel Cubio, Laarni Duran, Mark Christopher Gemzon, Franzel Lawas, Neil Monzon, Renier Sagarino Jr., and Ryle Sumilang.
The Shell Eco-Marathon is organized to encourage young students to challenge their minds into innovating a fuel-efficient vehicle capable of surpassing the norm boundaries. The two teams participated in the competition to challenge themselves in an environment that is not classroom-based, and had to endure a gruelling seven-month and three-phase registration and screening process.
