USC is one of the first-ever recipients of Renewable Energy Enabler Award

The University of San Carlos has been chosen as one of the first-ever recipients of the ACEN RES Renewable Energy Enabler Award (REENA) on August 1, 2024 at the Grand Hyatt Manila Ballroom, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Vice President for Administration Atty. Joan S. Largo, Ll.M. accepted the award on behalf of the University. The Award recognized USC for its commitment to renewable energy, highlighting how it has inspired other organizations and significantly contributed to ACEN’s efforts in building renewable capacity and decarbonizing the Philippine power industry.

USC has been consistent in reforming its practices to promote sustainable development and environmental preservation. Starting last year, single-use plastics (SUPs) were banned from all USC campuses and in February 2024, it partnered with GET Philippines for fully electric shuttle services

The University also recently issued a policy statement regarding the reduction of its carbon emissions.
