USC recognizes outstanding Carolinians during the 38th USC Excellence Awards

The University of San Carlos, through the Office of Student Formation and Activities (OSFA), awarded exceptional students and campus organizations during the 38th USC Excellence Awards held on May 11, 2024, at the Theodore Buttenbruch Hall, Downtown Campus.

With the theme of “U-Shape Carolinian Leaders: Sharing the Word, Changing the World,” the event aimed to recognize the feats and efforts of the Carolinian leaders throughout the Academic Year 2023–2024.

The Excellence Awards had three categories, namely: The Outstanding Campus Student Organizations (TOCSO), The Outstanding Leaders (TOL), and The Outstanding Graduates (TOG).

TOCSO encompassed the various co-curricular and extra-curricular organizations in both the Talamban Campus and Downtown Campus which showcased the virtues of the school in their events and activities during the school year. Apart from the presentation of the nominees and recognition of the awardees, the 38th USC Excellence Awards also served as an avenue for inspiration through the keynote speech of Atty. Marcley Augustus D. Natu-el, CPA, a USC alumnus and former TOL and TOG awardee.

In his speech, Atty. Natu-el reminded the attendees of three lessons regarding success. First, that success is holistic, not just singular. Second, that success demands to be felt. Third, that success is confidence, so believe. He concluded his speech by reminding the nominees of their capabilities and strengths. “You are ready for whatever opportunity comes your way, and you deserve it,” said Natu-el.
