The Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program of the University of San Carlos has been granted Level IV accreditation by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) evaluation—the highest status awarded for any pharmacy program in the country.

This distinction positions USC as the first and only FAAP Level IV-accredited pharmacy program outside Luzon, and only the second program nationwide to achieve this prestigious status. The program was first accredited in 2002.
The accreditation affirms the program’s long-standing excellence demonstrated through its consistent outstanding licensure examination performance, high-level faculty qualifications, relevant teaching practices, sustained global outlook and mobility, state-of-the-art facilities, strong industry partnerships, clinically impactful extension services in the community, and research productivity in drug discovery and development.
In November 2025, USC was recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as the Top Performing School in the Philippines for its stellar 100% overall passing rate in the Pharmacists Licensure Examination. USC has earned recognition by the Professional Regulations Commission as Top Performing School 20 times since 1996.
As the regional leader in pharmaceutical education, USC pioneered the offering of CHED-approved post-baccalaureate specialization programs such Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy. Through its Level IV B.S. Pharmacy program, USC has regionalized access to high-caliber pharmacy and pharmaceutical science education and training in the Philippines.
The successful accreditation was achieved through the unwavering dedication, hard work, and vision of the School of Healthcare Professions (SHCP), led by Gerard Lee L. See, Ph.D. (Dean, SHCP) and Florencio V. Arce Jr., Ph.D. (Chair, Department of Pharmacy).
Their leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and countless hours of effort have ensured that USC’s pharmacy programs meet the highest standards of quality and professionalism, further strengthening the reputation of the University of San Carlos as a center of healthcare education.
The FAAP Level IV accreditation is valid until February 2028.
