Raising the bar: USC celebrates Cebu’s lone civil engineer topnotcher and exceptional CELE results

The University of San Carlos through the Department of Civil Engineering and the School of Engineering continues to demonstrate leadership and distinction in engineering education. Engr. Jonathan Conrad Go Yu secured 1st place in the recent Civil Engineering Licensure Examination (CELE) with an outstanding 91.75% rating, emerging as the only Cebu-based topnotcher.

Engr. Jonathan Conrad G. Yu placed 1st in the November 2025 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination.

USC also achieved an impressive 65.33% overall passing rate in the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination( CELE) 2025, highlighted by an exceptional 83.33% performance for first-time takers, considerably higher than the 30.39% national average.

This success is made possible through the dedicated leadership of Department Chair Engr. Janice B. Jamora, D.Eng. and the Dean of the School of Engineering (SOE) Rosana J. Ferolin, D.I.T. as well as the unwavering support of faculty, family, and friends who guided and encouraged our new Carolinian engineers.
