Following the succeeding natural calamities of Northern Cebu earthquake and Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) and the flash floods in Cebu City that it brought, the University of San Carlos Counseling and Development Center (CDC) moved the celebration of Mental Health Month to November, instead of its original schedule in October.
In the past month, USC CDC, together with the Kauban Psychological Center, focused instead on helping its faculty, staff, and students cope with the stress and trauma brought about by the disasters.
This annual initiative takes on profound significance this year, serving as a vital platform for healing, resilience, and intentional self-care. With the theme, “The Wellness Compass: Navigating Life with Intentional Self-Care,” the celebration reminds us that even amidst uncertainty and crisis, we possess the tools to navigate our mental landscape with purpose, seeking out resources needed for emotional strength and recovery.
The new schedule for the celebration is shown below.

The Counseling and Development Center warmly invites every Carolinian to be part of this meaningful celebration. Together, let us embrace self-care, support one another, and strengthen the culture of wellness and compassion that truly defines the Carolinian spirit.
Details of each activity will be posted on CDC’s official Facebook page.
