Eugene Erik C. Lapasaran Lim is the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Top Line Business Development Corp. He graduated B.S. Business Administration from USC and then completed a General Management program from the National University of Singapore. He is also President and CEO of Topline Equity Corp., Light Fuels Corp., Topline Logistics Development Corp., and six other affiliate companies.
Vladimir Mariano, Ph.D. is the Lead Faculty for Technology and Innovation at the YSEALI Academy of Fulbright University Vietnam. He earned his doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and worked for the National Robotics Engineering Center of Carnegie Mellon University.

We are also convening an esteemed panel composed of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Jay Y. Yuvallos, Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office VII Director Ma. Elena C. Arbon, Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VII Assistant Regional Director Tristan L. Abando, Ph.D., Dr. Mariano, and USC Vice President for Academics Fr. Jesuraj Anthoniappen, SVD, Ph.D. The panel will discuss the gap between research and development and the commercialization of products and research outputs. This panel discussion will be moderated by Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Area Vice President for the Visayas Melanie C. Ng.
The USC Office of Population Studies Foundation, Inc. (OPSFI) continues their annual symposium in conjunction with this annual conference (see below). This year’s symposium considers the preparedness of Filipino youth for higher education and work using data from the ongoing Longitudinal Cohort Study on the Filipino Child.

Aside from the two plenary speakers, expert panel discussion, and the OPSFI symposium, there are 11 additional parallel sessions covering diverse topics such as the Blue Economy, sustainability, AI and machine learning, regional competitiveness, materials science, resilient communities, modeling studies, quality education, and culture and society.
University President Fr. Francisco Antonio T. Estepa, SVD, Ph.D. will also give his annual State of the University Address during the conference. This will be followed by the closing ceremonies where URC 2025’s major and minor sponsors will be recognized. Awarding of the Best Oral Paper, Best Poster Paper, and the inaugural van Engelen Award for Exemplary Researcher of the Year will follow.
