PASCN and USC to host hybrid symposium on blue economy

The University of San Carlos, in collaboration with the Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), will host a hybrid symposium on February 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the USC Talamban Campus, Cebu City, and online via Zoom.

The symposium titled “Shaping APEC’s Blue Economy Agenda: Philippine Leadership and Visayas-Centric Innovations” emphasizes “the country’s unique contributions and innovative approaches to addressing environmental challenges while promoting economic resilience.”

The organizers aim to encourage researchers of member institutions—particularly faculty researchers and graduate students—to participate in the symposium and, eventually, conduct research related to the blue economy and its impact on the Philippine economy.

Interested participants can register either onsite or online at https://bit.ly/pidsevent021925. For more information about the event, please visit the PASCN website.
