Personal Background
Fr. Melchor Pinsoy Fuerzas, SVD, is the University’s Secretary of the Board of Trustees. He is a missionary of the Society of the Divine Word and was ordained a priest on January 5, 2014. Born and raised in Tagbilaran City, he completed his B.S. Accountancy from Holy Name University (HNU) in 2001 before earning his B.S. in Sacred Theology from the Holy Spirit Seminary in Hong Kong in 2013. He is working towards his Master in Business Administration degree at the University of San Carlos.
Before assuming his current post, he served as the Finance Officer of the HNU Medical Center in Tagbilaran City from 2014–2017, where he is now the Corporate Secretary. Concurrently, he also serves as the Corporate Secretary of the University of San Carlos and the St. Arnold Medical Mission in Tacloban City.
