USC Chorister member Mary Chrisaville C. Belandres won the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) vocal solo competition (college category) held on April 26, 2021 via Zoom and the CESAFI Facebook page.

Belandres, a Bachelor of Physical Education student, bested 11 other soloists from different CESAFI-member universities and colleges.

This was the first time that the vocal solo competition was held online due to the government restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Belandres sang her own rendition of “Anak” and was coached by Roberto G. del Rosario, the University’s choir conductor.
