A Master of Science in Pharmacy student, David S. Hinolan, was awarded as one of the best research poster presenters during the 5th Asia Conference in Pharmaceutical Science (AsiaPharmV) held in Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam, on August 16-18, 2023.
Hinolan, together with his Vietnamese co-researcher, Viet-Phuong Bui from Vietnam National University (VNU), bested more than 50 research poster presenters at the research conference with his research study entitled, “Polycation-modified Fe(III)-MOF Loaded with Methotrexate and Pt(IV) Prodrug for Synergistic Anticancer Therapy.”
Various qualified students, professors, and researchers from China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Philippines, USA, and Vietnam participated in the research poster presentation contest.
This year’s conference theme was “Progress and Achievement of Pharmaceutical Science and Biomedicine.” The 2023 AsiaPharm is the 5th installment of the conference which started in 2016 at Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam, and was then hosted by Seoul National University, Korea in 2017, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia in 2018, and Universiti Teknologi, Malaysia in 2019.
Aside from the research poster presentation competition, delegates competed in oral presentations and attended various plenary sessions about pharmaceutical sciences.
Hinolan conducted his study at the School of Pharmacy, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan under the guidance of Dr. Teng-Hao Chen through the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), a scholarship grant awarded to him by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE).
