Dr. Richard R. Jugar, USC Dean of the School of Education, was appointed as one of the core team members of the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Research and Development Committee (RDC) for 2022-2023.
In their invitation letter for commission membership addressed to USC President Fr. Narciso A. Cellan Jr., SVD, CEAP’s Research and Development Committee acknowledged Dr. Jugar’s capability in contributing to the committee’s goals and objectives based on his role as a full professor, dean, and active researcher at the University of San Carlos.
As part of the core group, Dr. Jugar will engage in research works to support CEAP programs, initiatives, and advocacies. He will also contribute to the formulation of policies and programs relative to Catholic education as well as to the strategic direction and monitoring of work plans.
In 2018, Dr. Jugar was also appointed to the National Basic Education Commission (NBEC) when he was the USC Basic Education Director. He obtained his Ph.D. in Education from USC and his research interests include basic and higher education, student workload analysis, science process skills, and instrumentation, among others. Dr. Jugar is also currently co-leading the Learning Loss Research Project with Thames International.
