USC is ranked in 2025 QS World University Rankings

The University of San Carlos remains ranked in the 2025 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR). The University is ranked in the 1401+ range for this ranking cycle.

This announcement comes as part of the global release of the 2025 QS WUR at 5 a.m. PST today, June 5th (9 p.m. BST, June 4th in London, U.K.).

The number of institutions which were considered for this year’s QS WUR almost doubled, increasing from 2,963 in 2024 to 5,663 in 2025 from 106 countries and territories.

The University improved in most indicator scores including academic and employer reputations, employment outcomes, and international research network and continues to rank highly in academic and employer reputations (601+).

Only five Philippine universities are included in the 2025 QS WUR, which is the same number as last year’s release. This is the second year that USC is included in the QS WUR, making its debut in the 2024 rankings (see related story here).

USC ranks 3rd among Philippine institutions in citations per faculty with 4,636 normalized citations based on Scopus bibliometrics data from 497 normalized papers between 2018–2022. USC is also ranked 3rd in international faculty among the ranked Philippine universities.

The University administration expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the students, faculty and staff members, alumni, government and industry partners, and civil society organizations, for their contributions, collaborations, and service to USC as it continues to shape Cebu and the country for the better.
