October 4, 2025 – University President Fr. Francisco Antonio T. Estepa, SVD, Ph.D. released a memorandum today detailing the adjustments to the academic calendar for the remainder of the 1st semester, AY2025–2026, including the postponement of the midterm examinations.
Citing the University’s commitment to mutual support and solidarity with the people of northern Cebu, captured by the Cebuano word “pagbulig” or “pagtambayayong,” Fr. Estepa encouraged the Carolinian community to “strengthen our resolve to get through this together.”
The following changes were made to the academic calendar:
- Academic activities on October 6–11, 2025 – Classes shall continue in online mode in preparation for the midterm examinations. Laboratory classes, RLE, practicum, etc. that require physical presence may be held face-to-face.
- Postponement of midterm examinations – The midterm examinations, previously scheduled for October 6–11, will be moved to October 13–18, 2025.
- University Days 2025 – The annual University Days on October 20–25, 2025 will proceed as scheduled albeit with revisions to specific activities to reduce the gathering of large crowds in case there will be aftershocks. Dissemination of these changes will follow.
- Resumption of regular academic activities – Regular academic activities shall resume from October 27, 2025 onwards.
- Final examinations – Final examinations for 1st semester, AY2025–2026 shall follow the original schedule of December 9–13, 2025. Deadline for final grade submission shall be December 28, 2025 to ensure a smooth transition to the 2nd semester.
Meanwhile, the University continues its relief efforts for affected communities in northern Cebu and is extending counseling and support services to Carolinians who may need assistance during this difficult time.
